God's Love Is Sure

One of the best things about working for Christian Crusaders is getting to know our listeners. It is always a joy to hear how the Holy Spirit has used this ministry to reach those who might not otherwise hear the Word of God. Such is the case with Lloyd Fosse, better known as Bud.

Born in Minnesota, Bud was raised by his mother and grandmother following his father’s death when Bud was only six years old. At age eighteen, he joined the Navy and fought in the Pacific during World War II. After Bud had been out of the service for some time, he moved to Iowa, where he met Mary, the woman who would become his wife. He became an electrician and retired after working thirty-four years.

Because of his dedication to his country, Bud joined the AMVETS and served as the Iowa State Commander from 1972 to 1973. Attending district meetings on weekends often found him driving between his home and Des Moines. While on these trips, he often passed the time by listening to the radio. Bud eventually found himself tuned in to Christian Crusaders, the tool the Holy Spirit used to come into his heart.

As it turned out, one of Bud’s good friends, a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church where Rev. Homer Larsen served as senior pastor, invited Bud and Mary to attend worship. After accepting the invitation, they became active members.

Last October Bud and Mary celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in the care center where Mary lives. Although his wife’s Alzheimer’s disease has taken a toll on their lives, Bud continues to trust in the love of Christ to strengthen and sustain him.

There is no better reason to continue using radio broadcasts to spread the message of salvation through Jesus Christ than found in this story. Thank you, thank you, for keeping us on the air for more than 71 years, so people like Bud and Mary can hear of the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father!
